Lake Sebu
Lake Sebu is composed of 34 hectares and 7 islands. It has 3 lakes, 7 waterfalls which cover no less than 890 square kilometers. Local Tourists come here because of the cool temperature, ranging from 20 to 25 degree Celsius. Lake Sebu has been dubbed "summer capital of southern mindanao". Tourists also visit to experience the first hand culture of an Indigenous people, the T'Boli Tribe.
THE MYTH
Once upon a time, the local princess had a dream to come to the town of Sebu. She saw a big leaf, and opened it, and out…jumped a frog. Water gushed out from the leaf and flooded the place.The lake was born.These lotus flowers are abundant only in this lake.
Than from the heavens, the princess threw her python to earth. These formed the islands. The Princess' brother divided the islands so the princess could pass .Lake Sebu was named in honor of the loyal and true servant of the princess, Sebu fell and died on this lake during his service. The local tribesmen consider the lake not only a God-given food basket but also a miraculous body of water that never dries up.
