THE MYTH

Once upon a time, the local princess had a dream to come to the town of Sebu. She saw a big leaf, and opened it, and out…jumped a frog. Water gushed out from the leaf and flooded the place. The lake was born. These lotus flowers are abundant only in this lake.

Than from the heavens, the princess threw her python to earth. These formed the islands. The Princess' brother divided the islands so the princess could pass .Lake Sebu was named in honor of the loyal and true servant of the princess, Sebu fell and died on this lake during his service. The local tribesmen consider the lake not only a God-given food basket but also a miraculous body of water that never dries up.
